Chemists Empowering Diversity in Scientific Discovery (STEM UNITY)

Everyone deserves a chance to succeed in STEM – and that’s what you’re supporting when you give to STEM UNITY. This unique mentorship program is offered through the Department of Chemistry and focuses on first generation, low-income, mature, neurodiverse, minority and other underrepresented students in the STEM fields. The program provides a series of comprehensive workshops, information sessions and laboratory shadowing for undergraduate students, introducing them to UCalgary’s vast research, innovation, and curiosity. 

An early and empathetic mentorship experience makes a lifelong difference to those who struggle with their sense of belonging in STEM.
